Bernardo Zanotta (1996) is a Brazilian filmmaker, visual artist and writer. His films have been screened internationally and have been praised at Locarno Film Festival, Queer Lisboa and Vilnius Film Festival. Zanotta except for a Bachelor Moving Image at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. He recently did a research fellowship here awell.
Zanotta makes art in different disciplines. This varies from film and theater to installations and writing. He worked on the films In His Bold Gaze (2018), Heart of Hunger (2018) and Quintal (2018) among others. He is currently researching Tropical Gothic, a continuation of his research into cannibalism. Bernardo is actively involved in the underground cinema scene and leads a video sponsored reading group on queer diaspora.
